Supply chain reliability and ability to do with risks are important research fields in SCM. Although it is intuitive that supply chains ability to resist risks is likely to have a positive impact on supply chain performance, there is little systematic analysis and documentation of the magnitude of these impacts in the literature. This paper empirically documents the associations among information technology, supply chain robustness, and supply chain performance. Based on a sample of 186 questionnaires, the results show the positive impact of information technology on supply chain robustness and supply chain performance, and also the positive impact of supply chain robustness and supply chain performance....
In the supply chain management, the supplier can reduce its total cost by providing price discounts to restrict the retailers replenishment intervals to multiples of a common replenishment interval. In order to accomplish this purpose, supplier often determined a price discount that all the retailers can accept. After the cost of the supplier was further considered, a better price discount was designed, which can meet all the retailers requirements to maximize their benefits. And a new suppliers minimization problem model based on stackelberg game was designed also. Then a genetic algorithm is used to solve the suppliers replenishment model. Experiment results of the genetic algorithm demonstrated the feasibility and the effectiveness of the strategy....
Nowadays, Supply Chain Management (SCM) is a vital issue which companies are forced to deal with. Considering SCM processes, supplier selection is playing a leading role and the affection of supplied raw materials and assembled parts on end users satisfaction cannot be denied as it can influence over both tangible factors such as financial or quality indicators and intangible ones such as the shared knowledge. The main aim of the presented paper is to highlight the importance of the features of second layer suppliers which have been overlooked in supplier selection process. Therefore a new conceptual supplier selection model is developed to select preferred supplier based on two layers or more. The model is solved using Fuzzy Analytic Network Process (FANP) method which is redesigned using a matrix manipulated and has been fed with real data and the results represent that features of second layer suppliers are as important as first layers....
An order penetration point (OPP) is the boundary between make-to-order (MTO) policy and make-to-stock (MTS) policy. This study is dedicated to OPP strategic decision making which is concerned with the upstream and downstream decisions of OPP in supply chains. In this paper, we consider a two-echelon production supply chain in which in first production stage, supplier manufactures the semi-finished products on a MTS policy for a manufacturer in second production stage that will customize the products on a MTO policy. The manufacturer desires to find the optimal fraction of processing time fulfilled by its supplier and its optimal semi-finished products buffer storage capacity in OPP. Also, impatient customers are considered in the study. In order to calculate system performance indexes, we employ matrix geometric method and queuing steady state equations. Afterward, optimal solutions are obtained applying an optimization mathematical model with enumeration and direct search techniques....
